The team has directly said that they would respect a decision to hold out. That means they are NOT taking your hardline approach You appear to think that's the only approach and yet the team is not doing it that way. When they said they would respect the decision to hold out, I take that to mean they're not going to make an issue out of the holdout itself. No ethical lectures in public, no reprimands, no blowback, no stern actions in retribution.

Everything you're saying a team must or should do, they are NOT doing.
