So yeah.....he will be a five year starter, and he damn well better at least do that as the #1 pick! Unfortunately in the NFL....teams can have QB's start for five years...and have a 7-9 or 9-7 records and not be in a position to draft another avaialable stud QB. I hope this is not the Rams fate. It would feel like Bradford part II.

I see him as a good NFL QB. Not great....not spectacular.....but good enough to consistently be in the top 15 for a 7+ year period. He won't be a bust. I think McVay can use him in the right way to get this team consistently into the playoffs. At this point....I will take that.

Plus....I need Goff to get married to someone who can cook. Another 20 lbs would be great!

I think of it this way. You can't look at him as a #1 pick in the draft, as if the Rams had that pick already and were choosing the best player they could. You have to look at him as a team with a lower pick trying to get a qb in the draft. You either trade up or take your chances. It;s because he was a qb. So I don't see them as spending the #1 pick in the draft the way most people mean that. I see them as doing what they had to to get a qb.

Otherwise, he is NEVER going to live up to that pick. And people who need him to do that will be miserable the whole time he plays for the Rams (which IMO will be 10-12 years.) Him being a qb, and the Rams having a lower pick, meant they had to do what they had to do. So I personally never care about where he is picked...I am never going to be all rigid about that. And btw he's no skinnier than Rodgers or Warner.
