First off I never said squabbling. People can disagree without squabbling. Nor did I say overlord. I simply said someone needs to have final say which you seem to agree.

Second the rankings get blurred as the as the draft goes on so it's not always clear cut as you suggest. Moreover previously picks effect latter picks. Thus people not being machines dictated by logic statements will inevitably disagree at times.

Honestly, it was always a consensus and collaborative model. That came through in every single discussion of the draft either from a major Rams coach or front office guy---including all the pre and post draft press conferences---and it also came through in every report written about the Rams draft process by an outside reporter.

And at the start in 2012 they just spelled it right out.

They stressed that it was a group process to make the board and that on draft day they stuck to the board.

In fact if you go back to the article I just quoted, Fisher even says if they can't agree on a guy then they will not draft him. Not, then I will decide, but, they will not draft him.

Fisher had final say but he delegated and the process he made and stuck to was a collaborative, group process built on consensus.
