Belichick certainly benefitted from Brady. Then again, would Brady have been quite the superstar without Belichick? I doubt it.

If you know anything about Brady or follow him at all its profoundly evident that his greatness comes from within.

He works harder and is more motivated than anyone, plus he carries the proverbial chip on his shoulder.

The moment he was passed over in the draft, he made it his mission to prove everybody wrong.

I hate him and respect him in the same breath.

Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Lebron James all cut from the same cloth.

They would be great in any system.

Steve Spagnuolo great DC with great players in NY. Dogmeat in New Orleans with bad ones.

That's my answer to UK's question.

You may have misunderstood me about Brady just a bit, la.

I questioned whether Brady would have "been quite the superstar without Belichick".

I agree that Brady would very likely have been a star. For the many reasons that you mentioned.

But, I do think that Brady became the SUPERSTAR that he is because he benefitted from Belichick's genius, too. The schemes, the surrounding talent every year, the incredible standards that BB demands in every practice, the adjustments to opponents week in and week out, including within each game, if necessary. The bold gametime decisions, the culture that BB has established, etc.

Just my opinion, of course. But I believe that it took that fusion of a superstar player and a superstar HC to create that Patriot dynasty of 16 years, and counting. Neither could have done it alone.

But I'm bit surprised you got that impression after reading my response.

I put Brady in a category with superstar HOF players, that alone should have been enough.

Again ALL of those players including Tom Brady would be superstars HOF type players with ANY coach or system.

They're greatness comes from within. They are transcendent players.

Brady wasn't a superstar at Michigan, la.

Hell, he was a 6th round steal.

He became a superstar after playing for Belichick. It was a fusion, man.

I think it's a mistake to deny Belichick his due in the development of Brady

BOTH of these guys are gonna be first ballot HOF'ers. Can we agree on that much, at least?
