And you don't pay him ...

I have no words.

Sure we could have paid LeBron James... but wouldn't we rather have 5 random guys?

I don't get it.

What's the hang up with money? It's not like we're the ones spending it on the player!!

Agree, but....

The Rams have all the leverage here, so they shouldn't break the bank to pay him when they could essentially lock him up for the next 4 years at around $40 million with very little guaranteed. There has to be a middle ground here that they are working on right now.

Suppose Donald believes his press clippings and believes he is more important then the team and wants to be paid better then anyone else in the NFL?
If you pay him what he wants can you afford it? Can you build a team considering you have now handicapped yourself via the cap?

That is the question.

Grits

He probably does believe his press clipping and thinks he's the best player in the league, but.......IT DOESN'T MATTER.

The sooner he realizes the Rams can control his rights for the next 4 years for dirt cheap, the sooner he can figure out a reasonable contract would be the wise choice if he wants to get paid in 2017/2018 rather then 2021.

Like i said , the Rams have him by the balls with the 5th year option and franchise tag mechanism. He wants to be the highest paid player on defense, he's gonna have to wait 4-5 years....

So R2K...

You're saying "time is money"? Kinda?

I agree.

And I think AD and his agent will come to understand that concept before this goes too far.

Paying Donald like Watt is fine. Paying Tavon like Julio is not. nm

rambleon271July 09, 2017 10:43AM

Julio $70 mil a tad more then Tavon $40 mil....

Rampage2K-336July 09, 2017 11:12AM

Fair, I was just using Tavon as an example of our terrible cap management:
