I don't necessarily think it has to be a statistical cutoff.
It is whatever each person wants to define it to be, but I think most are too tight on their personal definition.
My definition is what I just made a 30 seconds ago and it goes like this:
Does the team tend to go the receiver in key times?
Is the receiver putting up catches, yards, and TDs in the top 32 in the league?
Do opposing teams pay special attention to the player?
If all 3 of those answers are yes, that to me is a #1 WR.
Some teams don't have a #1 and other teams may have more than one, (i.e. Bruce, Holt) I do think that a 1000 yards is a minimum standard.
We're a lot closer in our thinking than I noted at first.
We're just putting some things differently.
