But ... you are being intellectually dishonest if you don't admit that
Case Keenum was Jeff Fisher's guy.
Period.
End of story.
Also ... you're not-so-cleverly trying to recreate history in Dallas.
If you'll remember ... which you either don't or have conveniently forgotten ... Dak Prescott only became the Dallas starter when Tony Romo suffered a compression fracture to the L1 vertebra in his back during the Cowboys' third preseason game. Because of that injury, Romo was inactive for the first ten games of the Cowboys' season.
So ... Prescott did not beat out Tony Romo for the starting job. He was simply elevated to starter.
Period.
And, of course, Dak Prescott - as well as he played - also had the built-in advantage of playing behind arguably the league's best offensive line, having one of the best wide-outs in the game and the NFL's rookie of the year at tailback.
He also was able to play for a head coach who's no. 1 area of expertise was quarterback play ... having done so, himself, at the professional level for sixteen years. Garrett, as you might recall, also had six years experience as either an offensive coordinator or quarterback coach at the pro level ... not to mention the seven years as the Cowboys head coach.
Not to mention a veteran offensive coordinator in Scott Linehan ... and long-time pro quarterback Wade Wilson as his position coach.
How does that stack up with the dumpster fire Goff was thrown into in Los Angeles?
Goff's first offensive coordinator was Rob Boras .. who is now a tight end coach with Buffalo.
Chris Weinke, the quarterbacks coach, is now some sort of glorified student coach at Alabama.
Mike Groh, the passing game coordinator, didn't exactly move onward and upward after leaving Los Angeles. He's now wide receivers coach in Philly.
Soooooooooooooooooo ... thanks for playing our game today. You'll get the home version of our game as a parting gift!
