There is no way on earth that the Rams are thinking that way.
Now, maybe you believe that we will lose a lot of games. Maybe you think Goff will remain a bust. Maybe you'd welcome a #1 overall this year and the horrible season that would lead to it. That's your choice.
But it has nothing to do with tanking. This team could lose 16 games this year and it wouldn't have anything to do with tanking. "Tanking" is a real thing with a distinctive meaning. And as they build toward the new stadium, this team will NOT be tanking.
But for some bizarre reason, they seemed to come alive in the last few games and lost the second worst spot. They're chances to keep their pick fell by a lot.
It's a different scenario with the Lakers, of course. Tanking didn't just mean getting a great player. It meant keeping their pick or losing it.
