Glad you changed your mind.
We should absolutely go BPA at 37. I think we'll see a terrific prospect there as our option.
This pick is the 5th in the second round. Usually a first rounder drops to this area.
So we may see a top TE, or safety, or WR or center fall to us. And we probably need help at those positions but if a McCaffrey is there we grab him. He's technically a RB but so much more. I can see a dominant edge rusher and I take him. If Fournette dropped to us I draft him. Rank the players. Stay true to your board. Move up or down to get targets and maximize value. And after all that full needs. And I have to add this last thought. We need help at every position except for PK and P. Our QB is unproven. Our best HB had a down year. And our top backup left.
Our top WR left. Our OL still has holes. Our DL had 2 DEs leave and everybody is shifting into a new scheme. Our LBs have questions marks in this system. Our starting safety left. Our only spots that can't be improved are AD's spot and at P. Those two guys are All Pros and HOF types. You can argue our new LT is right there, but at 35, he might fall down from All Pro form. Quinn was the best DE in the game but has a bad back and is now a LB. We have talent other spots. Ogltetree is a talent but is now moving to his third position in three years. Barron too. We have so many question marks that it's silly to count on any one besides AD and Hekker.
We hope that our new FAs will help. We hope that then FAs who left won't hurt too much. We hope our secondary holds up. We hope some of our young guys develop. But, one of the reasons we were 4-12 is because too many things can go wrong and they did. The Patriots know Brady will play at an elite level. Their OL will block and give him time to throw. Their WRs and TEs will catch the ball. They will play smart and be well coached. Our Rams? Hope so. When it's mostly hope then we need talent. And when you're building talent you take BPA.
Bellicheat can target one special player for a pick because his team is at another level. We are not there. Not close. So we'll watch 36 picks go by and see what's left. Somebody who Snead has rated 1-36 will be there. He's our pick.
