I have to say that if McVay were to opt for a defensive player at 37, it would have to be a crazy value, impact guy. One with an immediate, and devastating production to the squad.
I remain steadfast, that even an insane CB, or LB, or pick one spot from that side of the ball just doesn't have the overall insane need for offensive production value from a ballhandler.
And, yes, McCaffrey dropping out of the first would be the kind of guy I would go wide eyed over; not that he ought to be the pick, but he's got that Reggie Bush freak player thing at times.
most have the Stanford guy going to Denver. a family choice.
after watching Engram a bit on film. I have no sense of his ability to make the tougher catches in tight quarters.
Engram being a TE seems to be a true misnomer, imo. He's got some size, but to me, he's got little value as protection or downfield blocking.
still, he sure looks like he's running away from everyone. all the stuff I see has him with crazy separation. Is that poor defense, or an amazing sense of field, and exceptional ability?
reading more on WRs, i'm cooling on a few at 37. Godwin is rising for me. I really do like Kupp, and JuJu. But they have such specific roles until they grow into pros. I'd love an impact offensive player and barring that at 3, waiting on Kupp, JuJu, or even Taylor Tawan, even later on Josh Reynolds starts weighing out pretty well. Yes, ceilings for guys like Kupp and JuJu are there. But I cringe thinking that such guys need a season or more longer to get up to speed. Take the TE with that need very high and talent equal, than to pull the trigger too soon. and of what an Isiah Ford. will look at him later, but he's got some comparables to sterling sharpe.
Kupp in the 3rd? Has the lowest drop rate of the WRs coming in if I read right. also one of wisest kids, too.
