I agree that the Snead/McVay relationship is one of consensus, zn.
And that Snead is evaluating players that most closely conform to McVay's parameters.
But I disagree that it is like the former Snead/Fisher relationship. In that one, I think Fisher was actually the Overlord. Lol.
No as I said that one was consensus too. Just with Fisher wearing the "final say" lapel button.
There is absolutely no evidence at all of it being any other way. All the evidence showed us the same kind of consensus model at work then as now.
Strongly disagree, zn.
Fisher was clearly the Alpha Male in that FO. From soup to nuts.
Snead was a mere glorified Director of Scouting during the Fisher regime.
Yeah I know you think that. What I was saying was that there is no evidence of that working the way you claim.
Fisher/Williams criteria for players drove things as much then as McVay/Phillips criteria for players does now, as much then as now they hash out their rankings as a group and as much then as now they stick to the parameters of the board and agreed upon direction and consensus when making picks.
If you still think differently then we will just have to agree to disagree.
Remember, I only mentioned Fisher to point out that based on what Snead is saying, the process is not that different now. I wasn't in a Fisher War. Sorry you took it that way. If you have more to say about that feel free, but I was actually discussing McVay and Snead, and how much Snead has emphasized that the process is a consensus process with his main job being getting the kinds of players McVay and Phillips want.
