But I also think that Snead was required to find “Fisher type” players, just as he is required to find “McVay type” players currently. All non-coach player types were respectively sorted out beforehand, IOW.
Another thing. I suspect that Fisher had a heavy hand in FA acquisitions. Far more than Snead, anyway.
The abilities of the 2 HC’s to develop their respective rosters is another subject and their results speak for themselves.
There's no guessing about this. We know, the evidence is all out there. Every central figured talked about it at length multiple times in multiple venues, each year.
This type of GM finds out what kinds of players the offensive and defensive coaches wants. It worked like that with Fisher and it works like that with McVay.
The "required" word is weird and gothic and unnecessary.
AND the results of that kind of collaboration includes Goff and Gurley.
All of that is just plain better than the worst naysayers want to pretend it was.

The use of the word “required”? You don’t think Snead was required to identify the types of players that his respective HC’s outlined? C’mon...
