It really was painful. At critical times, the stupidity was unbearable to watch.
The question now is McVay good enough to change the dynamic of a longstanding inept organization. We are talking about a major paradigm shift.
Certainly Fisher was a huge anchor, but Demoff was correct when he said its a total organization failure.
Its a question of which force is stronger. McVay has a ton of energy and he gonna need every last ounce in this job.
There were years of understandable frustration in my old post. But one thing still rings true. McVay is the man from Nazareth. He is the single biggest reason for the seismic paradigm shift in organizational culture. A simply miraculous job by the phenom HC. He picked up a historically entrenched dysfunctional organization and turned it on its head. It was as if he waved a magic wand and turned a big pumpkin into a bright golden carriage.
McVay is a very good coach.
I stopped reading after you said that.
McVay is a GREAT coach. He will go down as one of the greatest coaches of all time when all is said and done.
Wrong choice of word. I agree that he is a great coach who hopefully will go down as the one of the greatest when it's all said and done.
You should have kept reading though...
I still maintain that you vastly overstated how bad things were. There were several of us who could see through the fog and realized that they had many good things going, didn't need a complete overhaul, and simply needed to remove Fisher as a starting point.
Obviously from there you have to hire right which they did with McVay. But I think it's clear that those who were optimistic and backed Demoff and Snead have been proven right. That takes nothing away from McVay.
But he's not the only great thing going in this organization. I just giving credit to those who saw this, 43 being one...
