I guess where I'm heading is that the weighting of who was most responsible for draft selections in the Rams organization was Fisher.
First I want to say that from my POV, they drafted fairly well. Though in the end that will depend on how Gurley and Goff turn out. For now anyway I for one have no problems with Snead continuing in the job.
But I think we saw through all the reports and write-ups that they tended to rely on consensus. Fisher has to bear ultimate responsibility either way, but, it wasn't dictatorial. We heard of no scenarios where there were clashes over picks.
We did hear about that with Armey and Martz, and then with Zygmunt and Devaney. There were reports that Armey said in 2002, don't take Thomas in round 1---you can get Witherspoon in round 2 and he's a better version of what you're after. But Martz listened to Lovie on that one. Then, we also heard that Devaney didn't want Avery in 2008, but Zygment over-ruled him in favor of Linehan.
So you can often hear things if there are clashes or conflicts or significant differences.
I think what really went on with Snead and Fisher is that Fisher set the tone in terms of what to go after but he listened to Snead. At the same time, Fisher would listen to coaches too, apparently---for example, Alexander was apparently a Williams guy I think, and Boudreau apparently beat the drum for Robinson.
