Though I agree there are holes to fill and some overrated players in this team, they are a pretty solid group of young players.
Polian's was on Sirius the other day after doing the Rams vs Saints game broadcast and was raving about some of the players after a blowout loss, that's how much he liked some of these players(Goff, Ogletree, Hayes, Quinn, Gurley) that you think aren't good.. Says this team is very close to being a very good team. I agree, but I'm bias of course.
admire Pollian bet he also sees some P Manning in Goff. #1 question on Goff is all the young qb's have the ability to run which Goff lacks...have we entered a new era where pocket passers can no longer succeed in the NFL? Hayes is old, Quinn and Gurley are now mediocre players for whatever reason and the question from Mayock to scouts today has always been Ogletree's ability to play the run and his intelligence to call D signals. . Mayock hated him as a prospect. .Ogletree is almost a clone of Eric Kendricks. Both have great coverage grades and awful run grades. Personally I like Ogletree but don't think you can play 2 bad run support lbers at the same time.
usually great coaches will find a system to optimize a players skills while hiding their weaknesses..saw that last week with Belichick getting great production from other teams caste-offs.
when I looked at all the teams rosters before the sason began Rams looked 2nd 3rd worse...also all team have 5/6 players decent players what Poliian said about the Rams he could of just as easily said about the Browns
