keep seeing the same thing about only if we had a great coach...a great coach will dump most of this roster
qb...solid...IF Goff isn't a bust and jury is still out on that one. Truth is he has made #2 Keenum look good after his 1st 3 starts
rb..Gurley has only had one100 yard game in last 17 games and looks like a shell of his former self..zero flexibility/jump cut..doesn't take anything outside...odds are great he is a one(1/2 season) and done player
wr...awful group. Britt is playing well in a contract year but don't expect that player to return. Austin/ Quick below avg wr's Cooper/depth nothing special.
te..a mess
oline a mess
de a mess..Quinn will likely continue to fade and Hayes is old
dt wasting money on Cam Thomas a backup nt type is best filled by 6th/udfa types but dt the strength of the team
lb 2 fast, bad against the run starters and zero depth
cb..a mess Tru Johnson career pff stats say a slightly above avg starter his one good season was his contract year..don't let that fool you..he is the avg grade of all his entire career. 39th best cb this season per pff. fingers crossed on Mike Jordan can develop into a solid starter but still zero depth. The 5'8 180 lb Joyner came into the league with below avg 40,10 yard split, 3 cone and short shuttle times...those will only get worse as injuries take their toll.
safety 2 strong safeties starting, no free safety on the roster and not much depth
at a minimum this team needs upgrades at 6 starter positions and major improvement at the backup spots..all starts with the new GM not the coach..team is 4-8 with zero starters on IR. Truth is they would be a one or two win team if they had the usual number of injuries.
new GM has a lot of work ahead of him. Time to start chopping wood.
