i understand and respect your point of view...but to me this conversation is a bit pointless because its not going to happen imo. you seem to either (a) want players or types of players that dont fit want GW appears to want to do; or (b) you want GW to change his scheme to fit what you think he should do. obviously the d can still get better, but im happy with the overall approach that GW has taken. id rather not see that change as i believe GW is correctly adapting to he modern nfl game. i think the more interesting and realistic discussion is to talk about how to improve the rams d within the scheme GW is running. but thats not what you want....thats fine. take care.
Unless you want to say that
all of our talk here is pointless. Again, the Rams FO, coaches, staff and players aren't going to care what we say here. Not one iota. None of our debates are going to alter anything they do. So if the criteria for discussion is to keep it "realistic," according to your vision of that, it's just limiting what we fans can talk about -- with no gain in impact. They're still not going to care.
But, the real key to me is when another fan says, "You're ignoring what the Rams think." Again, no, I'm not. As I mentioned, I assume, going in, that my views and theirs aren't on the same page in all things. I assume that if they wanted to draft player X, the guy
I'd prefer, they would. Or, that if I want them to play tight, man to man, and they don't, it's because that's not what
they want to do. Before I post any criticism of the Rams, I already take that into account. Again, I wouldn't be critical of X, Y or Z if we were.
Beyond all of that, no harm, no foul. To me, these boards are just us, shooting the breeze with each other. There isn't going to be any impact on the games. No strategies or personnel will change. We're just being fans, tossing this and that around.
Hope all is well --
