i agree tru must be resigned. but im not sure if i like hill as a starter (yet) should gaines go down. and while i liked gaines in the az game, he hasnt been able to stay on the field. maybe im being too pessimistic here, but i just think you can lose a game very quickly with poor db play, especially against top notch qbs.
i just dont think we are going to invest more resources into the de spot. we resigned hayes, sims and quinn last year (if i recall correctly).
i agree on the wr, i didnt mention it because we were talking defense.

Let's talk about CB for just a minute, PHD.
Not in a confrontational way, of course. Just in a friendly discussion kind of way.
I think it will all revolve around whether they can extend TruJo at an affordable price. I sure hope they can. If so, I LOVE our CB situation.
TruJo
Gaines
Joyner
Hill
That's 4 deep with excellent quality. They will find a 5th for development next offseason. Heck, I thought they had a couple that they released this summer, TBH. Sensabaugh is a goner after this season, of course.
Now, if TruJo walks, all is not lost. I think Hill has starter potential. But he won't have the experience for a while that can be so valuable. Then again, he would save us $12 million or more on the cap. And then acquiring a CB prospect would become a higher priority.
Either scenario, I think we're in very good shape.
And besides, I trust Fisher and GW on secondary matters. They've earned it.
So I'm sticking to my projection of DE and WR as our probable biggest positional needs in the next offseason.
As an aside. I don't see DT as a need for next year. I'm VERY happy with the Easley and Thomas rotation that we have now. I mean, VERY happy. Both are active, making plays, and are giving the opposing OL absolutely no relief.
