But I still think he reminds me a lot of Montana and his early struggles. Goff will become a great qb for the Rams. But right now he looks like what he was not long ago-a kid in college-albeit a big school. He's now in the big leagues and he's one of those who will need to grow up maturity wise. Stuff is moving too fast for him but it will slow down. He has great tools, is smart, and makes legitimate decisions quickly-just not at this time.
As far as this "he's most pro ready" ready stuff-I don't recall the Rams ever announcing that was the reason they drafted him and it most certainly did not come from Goff himself. More likely this was from the media and even posters herein.
He's going to be worth the draft choices given up. Maybe not now and maybe not for awhile -but eventually he will be worth the price. Everyone matures at different paces-even the greatest qbs of all time. Some faster and some slower. HBO's Hard KNocks gave us a little insight as to his maturity when it showed clips of his comments in practice huddles and on and off the field. He is really still just a "kid". Some of the great ones come out of college already mature to take control of a team. Others don't. He is one of the latter.
