I saw a lot of people on the internet being down on some of the Rams draftees for their 40 times, "Hes too slow, he won't make it, he can't break a big run".... I saw those and more, but the Rams use Analytics more than probably anyone else, they use the GPS on how fast a player plays the game, not how fast he runs in a track setup in shorts and T-shirts.
While those 40 times are great to talk about and dream of the 4.38 guys running past defenders, it simply doesn't equate all that often to game speed. Some guys just play faster than they run in a track meet setting. Kupp ran a slow 40 and yet he sure seems to be doing quite well.
I trust the Rams use of GPS on game day a lot more than I trust the stopwatch at the combine/pro days.
