From the article:
With the draft over, the Dolphins will work to offload Ramsey before owing him a $18.98 million bonus. June 1st is a key date because of the Dolphins ability to move Ramsey via a post-June 1 trade. A pre-June 1 trade hampers the Dolphins with a $25.2 million dead cap charge. The Dolphins will take on $25.2M in dead cap charge no matter when they trade Ramsey.
If they trade him before June 1 it all goes against their 2025 cap.
If they trade him after June 1 then $10.7M goes against their 2025 cap and the remaining $14.5M goes against the 2026 cap.
There are games teams can play with the cap, but one immutable fact is if a team pays a guy some money then that money will eventually go against that team's cap one way or another. The Dolphins already paid Ramsey that $25.2M and they will take a cap hit for every penny of it.
I know the post-June 1 chart in the article says the Dolphins would get hit with $6.7M in dead money in 2025 but the figure is actually $10.7M. Overthecap reported the $6.7M figure because they assumed the Dolphins would trade Ramsey before his $4M roster bonus was due. They did not do that - Ramsey was still with them when that roster bonus was due, the Dolphins paid it, and the Dolphins take the cap hit for doing so.

From the article:
The Rams have $17.6 million in cap space currently, but that does not account for their rookie draft class. The Rams rookie pool is $6.734M so when they sign everyone that will be $6.734M against the cap.
However, only the cap hits of the top 51 players count against the cap.
When the Rams sign their draft picks the last 6 guys on the current 51-man list drop off. Those 6 guys have a combined cap hit of $5.892M. The impact of signing the 6 draft picks and dropping off the bottom 6 guys is a net increase of $.842M against the cap.

From the article:
Los Angeles can also create cap space and position space by releasing Derion Kendrick. The Rams would not have to create cap space in order to trade for Ramsey.
After signing their rookie pool the Rams would have around $16.8M in cap space.
Ramsey's cap hit to the Rams in 2025 would be $5.916M. The Rams would be on the hook for his salary ($1.255M), the prorated share of the $18.89M option bonus due August 30 ($3.796M), his per game bonus ($765,000), and his workout bonus ($100,000) ... with the assumption that he meets the requirements for the per game bonus and the workout bonus.
