Affordability matters. And, you aren't going to get a top starting player as a back-up, without paying a lot of money and probably ticking him off. I know darn well they are bringing him in for 2 reasons. One, he can back-up all 3 interior spots and provide competent play. Second, it is to provide competition for Limmer. Competition for each spot is a good thing. In fact, it wouldn't shock me if Shelton won the starting role. I doubt it, by this guy has proved he can play in this league and now we have a good game-day backup for our interior Oline. They typically only dress 7 Oline. So, he's number 6. Some OT will have to emerge as number 7, and no doubt he will also have to be flexible enough to play OG in a pinch.
