... obviously foolishness at this juncture, they are all "incomplete" and have no bearing on anything except fan hype/clicks. Teams all do draft "post mortems" but they don't do them until 2-3 years afterwards, and they are primarily a grade on their process/decision-making of each pick and what they missed or hit on and why. And not just their own picks, but successful picks they passed on. It used to always be 3 years but due to the turnover in scouts and coaches some teams have moved that up to after the 2nd year.
There is enough tape to show Blake Corum can catch the ball, but the real issue for him, and any running back in our or most systems, is can they handle blitz recognition and pickup. That will decide if he's on the field or not, particularly on 3rd down.
This draft (and recent free agency) indicates a couple of things - we are revamping how we approach our defensive front play. As Belichick said, "you earn the right to rush the passer by stopping the run". On offense, we are going to run the ball more via a power system, with smaller backs behind them that are harder to see and hit holes decisively. We are all in on Stafford for the next couple of years apparently, so keeping him upright and not taking beatings trying to win the games with his arm is at a premium. Pound the ball via the run and our big O-line and new big blocking TE and our good-blocking wide receivers, and then play-action.
