Stafford threw for more yards than Goff. Quite a few more, you can look it up, or did, and chose not to report it.

No matter - I watched that game carefully and saw the Goff-led Lions a couple of times before. He's growing and maturing (and healing up, I would imagine,) as a quarterback.

And again, I wish him no ill will and was glad to see him come alive, you might say, with Detroit after his Super Bowl defeat with the Rams. I think that game got to him.

To cite the differences between the Rams passing offense and Detroit's when it comes to the middle distance throws would take half a day if I had the technical expertise to cut up the tapes, but I have neither the tech expertise nor the time. But I won't concede the point that Goff's performance was slightly better than Stafford's based on the stats you selected, especially given that the Lions D-backs were a better crew to begin with than the Rams, and the Lions D-backs were playing under a different set of rules than the Rams.

Nor would I concede that Goff is as good as Stafford at those throws. If the roles were reversed, could Goff had hit Puka aon a couple of those tight-window throws that Stafford made? I think not.

We saw the game differently.

Again: Goff is still young, still growing as a QB and a leader. It takes time. I wish him well.
