I actually read the article and the title of this thread is absolutely false. This is what Goff said in those two sentences: "Being shipped off and being sent to a place to die, essentially,
is what a lot of people think it was and I was never going to allow that to happen," Goff said. "I'm fortunate enough to be around a lot of good coaches and players in Detroit that support me and help me reach my potential.”
Goff said that's "what a lot of people think it was," he didn't say that is what he thought. In fact, the way I read it is that Goff thinks a "lot of people" think he washed up so the Rams decided to dump him and his salary and get Stafford while he went to Detroit where his career would die...not only because Detroit probably had the worst roster in the league, but also because he was just a flash in the pan and Detroit is where his career would end while they drafted and new team. Once again...the way I read it Goff is saying that is more or less what a "lot of people [probably] thought happened." He didn't say that is what the Rams did, he didn't say that is what the Rams thought. And he "wasn't going to let that happen."
His comment, contrary to the title of this thread, was not at all about the Rams.
