I hear you thinking and being honest, I felt kind of low last night on hearing the news! (Which itself is an interesting question for me..... as in I love my Rams..... but funny how it can affect my life in such away!!).

The optics are made by the media and as above by our own feeling /experiences.

It's been reported many times he only wanted to play 8-10 years and when this latest deal was signed, it was hinted it most likely was a 2 or possibly 1 Yr deal. ( brings up another Q of hiw much did these 2 yrs cost, because I bet its a whole lot more than the quoted $31m average..... which is unusual for a players contract to work out that way in itself!).

Still your point of timing, I agree it feels like I've been suckered punched. But McVay/Snead hinted at the process. The emotions of the season especially loosing in playoffs are still raw just afterwards. AD needed time to come down from that, get away, talk stuff over with his wife and himself. I get it, this takes time and possibly some toing and froing. But I feel you, it would have been great in someways to know it was the end, having that last game moment were all fans could watch him bow out as possibly the greatest Rams defensive player ever...... ( another discussion for later!).

Lastly I was wondering again how much of an impact Henderson leaving was......I'm betting it ended up being one of the main tipping points to retirement.

Anyway just my take Rams43.......gutted!
