Fun read and I love Mitchell at the top. I think he'd be a day one impact player for us.
I've been trying to kick around who the impact types are of late. Who are the guys who potentially have the highest impact on our team overall if we were to take them at the top. I expect this is going to be a big part of the decision. If true this means QB is out for example. Also to me that eliminates most of the OL types, as I don't see any except for maybe Powers as a guy who could come in and be felt in a profound way day one, but hopefully we also sign Dotson and then it's gonna be a round 3 equation for center I would think.
Seems to me like CB is 100% a top option in that regard. There are multiple impact options that look to be slated in the area we draft. Getting one of them seems quite likely and several look to have the ability to significantly improve us.
Nubin is special. I am way higher on him than most I realize. He brings size and ball skills, safety's a need for us, and he would impact us significantly.
Edge just doesn't feel like it's going to line up. If Latu's medical is good then he's off the board quick, or should be, because with health he might be the best player in this draft. The guy is that good IMO. But Turner and Verse are both gonna go off before we pick it feels like. So idk. Guessing this doesn't align for us though I hope I am wrong.
Bowers is special. He's another guy you hope will fall but he probably won't. After him there's no option for TE at 19. I have a hard time imagining him falling.
WR will be strong in impact options at 19 most likely. I expect the two wideouts you list, Coleman and Thomas, are both in play for us potentially. Both possess what we need (X size and speed) and add explosiveness to the perimeter on day one so big impact potentially.
Can't wait for the 40 times. Ideally the wideouts, Nubin, and the top corners run well. And from there if we see a run on QBs we might have ourselves a really high quality pick.
