Personally I think he thinks of things purely year-to-year and probably talks with the team about that.
He just is not a guy that is going to be playing at 40. I think it is probably 50/50 he is back in 2025. And IF he is, great, they can afford him as is. His 2025 cap number as it stands now is 5th in the league and will probably slip down further over the next year I'm sure.
There is
zero need to extend him further.
