I was mostly tearing down Clark's hollow assertion that Purdy had no business being considered as an MVP candidate. He tried to use Josh Allen as an example of what an MVP player is.

I think his assertion is dumb. He meant to suggest that Josh Allen is a shining example of an MVP, but my position is that an MVP is not simply how high a guy can jump, or how much he can bench press; it needs to be considered what the player does for the benefit of his team.

As an example, if a quarterback scores 37 touchdowns year after year, but constantly and consistently can't help his team get out of the first round of the playoffs, then is he really adding anything to that team?

I would say that an argument could be made that he is detracting from it.
