I have expectations... so the strength of the Rams is their offense right?

When the Rams have lost this year it's normally due to a couple of different factors:

1) Specials teams, missed kicks, blocked kicks, no return game

2) The offense on a few occasions (49ers, Philly, Bengals, Pittsburgh) disappears and this was prior to the emergence of Kyren... generally, it has happened in the 2nd half and specifically the 4th Q

3) The defense collapses.. sometimes after stretches in which they play really well. Colts, Pittsburgh (again) Cincy, Saints, Wash (even though they won)

In Sunday's game none of those things happened.

The Rams had no TOs
Their special teams were great
Their defense struggled with a very good offense in the 1st half but played much better in the second half holding the Lions at home to 3 points
They trailed 21-17 at the half
And Stafford killed it (are you kidding me with all that noise!!!)

It's just surprising to me that in a game where none of those cringy errors happened the Rams were not able to pull out a win on the strength of McVay and Stafford

That is why I put more of the weight of the loss of the offense because I expect so much more out of them. There is no way in hell you could tell me that the Rams weren't going to win that game in that second half... And I have that expectation because we have a coach that is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in football and a QB that is known for winning those types of games
