there is no doubt the Rams needed more pressure, but on 1st and long and second and short---you have to get pressure from your front. And that didn't happen enough. Turner got one good rush, Hoecht a little. Donald was getting extra attention. Young didn't get much pressure.
If you blitz on 1st at 10 (other than maybe late in a game and you are desperate, or have a fair lead) you lose your second lever defender. If they have a run called and he finds a gap, then next line of defense is the secondary ... pretty risky.
Lions offense outplayed the Rams defense in the first half. Winning on 1st and 2nd down. On thrid downs, Rams pressure and or showed pressure and got mixed results, mostly bad.
