The sad thing is we knew this better than anyone…. We should have sold out on getting in his face early and often
When? That is my question. When you watch the game you'll see there was not difference between first and second half in terms
of pressure. They didn't blitz more in second half than first half.
The defense got beat on first and second down. You don't sell out on first and second down. They didn't do that in the second half.
If you have problems with the game plan, totally fine. Totally fair. You thought is should have been different.
But the truth is this --- the same thing was done in the second half (worked) that was done in the first half (failed).
The defense did better on all three downs in second half.
It wasn't an issue of the pressure choices. Lions in 12 personnel a lot.
Now that I understand the source --- ESPN is showing how much the pressure happened. They are not tracking blitzes... the number of attempts to pressure, just what was successful.
Here is a pressure on an early down --- Kobie beats his man

In the first half Turner got a pressure, but it wasn't a blitz. So it would show in ESPN's count but the times they tried to blitz and failed at not listed. So it's a reflection of what happened and not a reflection of what was called to get that pressure.
here no pressure called, but there is pressure and an incompletion

here pressure is called, no pressure and it's complete. The inverse.

Thanks for sharing the source ... it helps me understand what they were saying, it was about results not intent.
