Statistically, if you look at not just defense but both sides of the ball, they're ranked in the top half of the league or better in just about everything. But they aren't really elite at anything.
And we should all be OK with that. This is still a young, inexperienced, top-heavy team.
Defensively the areas where they rank lowest are in takeaways/game (30th) and QB pressure percentage (27th). No surprise. We all know they need more help at Edge rusher and CB in 2024. And they're 30th in FG%.
Same with the offense. Other than red zone scoring (7th) they're mostly ranked 13th, 14th, 15th, etc.
They're tied for 13th (w/ Green Bay) in points differential, which is typically a pretty telling stat for teams later in the season.
This is what they are. Pretty good, growing, competing. Not great. Might earn the 7th seed in the NFC. Might be the last team out.
And like you said given the personnel they came into the year with it's sort of a miracle they're this good and have a 50/50 shot at the playoffs with 5 games to go. And yes, coaching is a big, big part of that.
