What a disappointment Akers is. Seems we should have been on the hunt for a RB this off season. Williams as a starter puts us near the bottom of the pack as far as RB go. He is okay as a 2nd or 3rd back but as a starter he is very subpar. Having the ball bounce off his hands for in interception yesterday took us out of the game.
Akers and Jefferson are big disappointments but at least we have depth at WR even with Kupp out. Akers trade value is zilch. How did we get into the season before figuring out Akers was a problem? We could have at least featured him in preseason to see if someone might be interested in acquiring him.
Might be time to dangle a 5th or 6th rounder and try to get a back up of another team or maybe package Akers with a pick to sweeten the pot. Regardless we are in deep trouble at this position and I have to fault management for letting the team get to the point where after 1 game we finally figured out our #1 running back sucked and wasn't even good enough to be activated for the game. This should have been figured out a long time ago and we should have taken action to get a decent starter.
