Two things come to mind.
1.) After last year's attempt to trade Akers fell thru he finished the season by leading the league in rushing over the last 5 (or 6?) weeks of the season. Earlier in the season he looked like the Achilles was still an issue. IOW teams have more (and better) intel on him now than they did when he was on the trade block last year.
2.) It appears that there are teams out there where Akers could fill an obvious need. This article makes a good case for a number of such teams: [
