The percentage of 3rd round players who ever become starters is small....I believe I read something like 12%. So to characterize it as "blowing it" on any 3rd rounder, expecting him to be a starter (especially after missing his entire rookie season to injury), is a bit much. Of course, we'd all like to see him be a Cooper Kupp type of pick. Doesn't happen that often.
But, who knows how he'll develop. I could easily see the Rams starting 5 as Jackson, Avilla, Shelton, Anchrum, Havenstein, with back ups Noteboom, Allen, Bruss, and TBD. I'd speculate that it could be McClendon because there seems to be a sentiment that he can play inside.
