McVay took his sweet time in choosing these hires, and rightly so, but I am almost giddy at the thought of so many coaching upgrades coming in to teach these youngsters. From OC to waterboy I see upgrades almost everywhere I look.
Hot Damn!
I do believe it was a very calculated approach to get back to what McVay does best and that is teaching & developing thus surrounding himself with those types of Assistants. I also believe that although Morris was a finalist in the Colts Head Coaching Search the Rams were able to add the likes of Aubrey Pleasant & Jimmy Lake that I am sure Morris signed off on and is looking forward to both of them being a major part of the defensive scheme.
Totally agree we lost something the last few years from a coaching perspective in player development. Seems McVay really looked ahead when he fired many on his last staff and hired a bunch of assistant coaches who would excel in player development knowing he would have a bunch of young kids to deal with.
