As much as I like McVay, i'm not confident in his ability to choose/coach up a QB. Goff and Wolford both looked worse the longer they were on the team (remember how everyone was pumped when Goff was benched for Wolf?!). Perkins, for all the time he spent on the team, showed nothing when his chance arrived. To say nothing of Mannion and Bortles.

If, and when, the time comes to replace Stafford it's going to have to be with another vet QB who we'll have to pay dearly to obtain in either salary or trade. The 2024 free agent QB's don't project to offer anyone better than Stafford. I don't see us ever drafting a rookie that can handle McVay's intensity and expectations.

One more reason I'm not totally bummed this off season. Even DURING our Super Bowl run..
