Is the way McVay has approached his staff. TE for example fell off a cliff after Wes Phillips left and it's not like I think Wes was an amazing coach or anything. McVay can talk up Brown all he wants about how great a leader he is but for myself the metric is what has he done on the field. How have his rooms
performed.
Well with Brown you see bottom feeding at best with the RB rooms he headed up. Zero foresight in reloading the depth options beyond Akers. And then after he moved to TE we saw a room that had performed in the playoffs in spot starts fall off a cliff. And once again there was zero foresight before the season in ensuring the pieces were good.
So sometimes with coaches you get too much ego in the way of things. And I think that was a problem with Brown. I'm sure he's a great leader in the room. But there's a point where you gotta check your ego and ensure the team is making good decisions going forward and he did not help us with any foresight whatsoever.
Fast forward with this new TE coach and what will we get in that regard. Maybe a little bit more. I am hopeful. Same goes for the RB room with a vet coach coming in who again helps them to restack the depth to properly allow for a RBBC approach.
