I think that much is clear. Hopkins could barely sniff the field in spite of a decimated TE room at times during his tenure with us thus far. So adding this kid, who was a third round pick, adds talent to the room plus maybe they draft a TE in what is a very talented class. End result is we end up with a totally different TE room for 2023.
Hopefully someone with the Rams has been tracking on this guy though and they end up with a Corbett type pickup. But whether or not he works out it looks to me like a changeover in that TE group could be the plan.
We have all been screaming for a good TE for a while now. A solid relief valve for the QB like Holohan was for Everett.
The question is will McVay use him effectively? IMO, the TE usage has been questionable at the very least.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
