here is what I think
Hunter Long probably partied too much as a rookie, calling in to question his commitment
to football.
He turned it around his second year and should have gotten more playing time.
He is a very good athlete, has good size, speed, leaping ability, but not yet
a good blocker.
I think Rams see someone they can work with. I think they knew all the positives
and the negatives and did not screw up by taking him rather than some other player
or another draft pick.
They plan to coach him up.
I have no idea if he can play well in the NFL or not. I have never seen him
play...not sure anyone else has, either, unless they watch Miami preseason games.
Seems like a decent pickup--worth the risk, given we don't know what else was offered
