Of course it has it's value. For one it seems to have put a lid on long passes almost league wide.
There's a reason why McVay wanted to run it: He's hates playing against it. It throttles his "chunk play" philosophy.
But like anything, you can't overdo it. You have to mix it up. And it isn't necessarily the best defense against all teams. (Like the 49ers)
With so many teams starting to run it I wonder how soon we'll see changes by the offenses. Primarily players who can exploit the short passes: TE's and receiving backs.
