I totally agree that there's no way the Rams give him the opt-out if that's what he's asking for...that's why I started this whole thing. Because if I'm right, there's only two options. I have no idea what the Rams will do (I suspect they'll just ride it out and hope AD changes his mind). That said, we have NO IDEA what another team may offer. What if the Texans offer a #1 and other pby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, I disagree that it's solely about the money, but pretty much agree with everything else. I'm going to try to make some contact with some people to see if they can tell me if I'm on the right track. That said, the patterns indicate that it's not the money because the talks wouldn't have broken down the way they did if it were over a few million dollars. it's got to be something likby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
There is no "relative" position applicable to this except for the fixed markers on the field. Here's one for you. If Wilson HAD thrown it backwards, but the wind pushed it forward... it would be a forward pass because the vector of his initial throw is NOT RELEVANT. It's where it left the hand of the thrower and where it hits the hand of the catcher in ABSOLUTE terms. NO factorby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, you are a curmudgeon. And yes, the ads are terrible and distract significantly from the product on the field. I mean, what's next? on the jumbotron..."I know we just lost a fumble, but... you could save 15% if you switched to GEICO!" P.S. I'm a curmudgeon, too.by Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
"44 finished in the Top 3 in PRD (6%)" should read 44 finished in the Top 3 in PRD (60%) just a typo, but it confused me a sec trying to figure the numbers. Be well.by Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
If a Fisher-led Ram team can go into Seattle and win... This team can. Luck favors the prepared and this team only gets more and better prepared each week.by Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, the clause was speculation on my part based on some educated guessing and pattern recognition with respect to NFL contracts over the years. It may not be that, but I really do think that whatever it is was a response to always losing since AD was here and he didn't have any idea what winning would look like. The opt-out clause fits. Could be something else, but it's the most logical oby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, Watkins might want to hit FA and test the market. Nothing anyone can do about that. And as I've written before, I surmise that AD hasn't signed and held out because he wants a 3 year opt-out clause, which no way the Rams go for. If that's the case for AD, then he's already gone if he doesn't change his mind. The only question at this point is do we keep him for 3 years on the 5th yearby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I agree totally. The ONLY thing I can figure since the money literally cannot be an issue unless AD wants to be a $30M/yr player is that there's a technical issue. Things like payment structure aren't a reason to hold out...not in this case because the Rams prefer to front load I'm really hoping that the opt-out clause, if that's what it is, was a defense mechanism because AD is suby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
That's not what I said. I'll distill it. AD may want language like an opt-out clause that the Rams will NEVER agree to. If that's the case as I suspect it is considering the package the Rams put together was pretty close to the highest paid defender in the NFL, then AD being a Ram forever just can't happen. Not as long as AD or his people want language that is a hard no, then what?by Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Had a chance to see WWF in 1986, I think. Rick Flair was still doing his deal and I couldn't believe how SHORT he was... personality that was 6'5", but a body that couldn't have been 5'8" I gotta admit, the atmosphere was... ELECTRIC. Only time I felt more crowd energy was with the Lakers during the Finals in 1985. I skipped school with a friend to get tickets to both games atby Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't disagree with anything you've said. I think the crux of the matter is that AD and his people are asking for an opt-out clause. I don't think it's the money. Now, if they are asking for an opt-out clause, that's a done deal for the Rams. It's just never going to happen. The ONLY question at that point is what do the Rams do? the ETFE is not only naturally a barrier, but will likely also have a UV shield. it may be slightly warmer than a solid roof, but not much. The larger complaint is that it will always feel like playing in the shade. The lights will seem brighter on the Jumbotron stuff, but it may make the playing surface kind of dim. We'll see. Jerry Rice says hi. Also, read my response and maybe reread what was initially posted. It absolutely wasn't a "hey, I think it's a great idea to trade AD for a ham sandwich and fries" post. Be well.by Mackeyser - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow...it's been a long time since I posted here. Saw the post got put on Twitter and wanted to clarify a few things. Btw, hope all are well, had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that your holidays go very well. Okay, so I'll just enumerate to make this easier.
