The ONLY thing I can figure since the money literally cannot be an issue unless AD wants to be a $30M/yr player is that there's a technical issue.
Things like payment structure aren't a reason to hold out...not in this case because the Rams prefer to front load
I'm really hoping that the opt-out clause, if that's what it is, was a defense mechanism because AD is such a hardcore competitor that he wasn't willing to spend his entire career on a losing team.
I'm really hoping that AD sees how we do and the trajectory of this team and decides to take the legendary contract and decides to stay long term.
I've been outspoken in supporting players to "get theirs" while they can because the NFL is "not for long". Ask any Running Back. That said, I see no reason for AD not to sign long term, ESPECIALLY since the Rams look to be perennial winners and he's actually going to lose money if he doesn't sign.
