I have Fly Fished BUT.... not properly. :laughing What I mean is: Did it on my own and don't really know how.... and more importantly: Never in an aesthetically pleasing environment... you know... babbling stream, in waders, a moose sharing the stream with you, etc. All fishing is 'calming' to me EXCEPT... from a crowded boat. In a crowded boat fishing elevates to the most stressful hby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Agree, it's a beautiful area. Once had an uncle that lived in Quincey. More on the eastern side of the Sierra's. I always thought Quincey would be a great place to retire. It's getting more popular but still quiet, sparsely populated. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

especially those hidden in the city limits. Maybe the first time is a bit difficult because you aren't sure what it is you're looking for but once you find the first one the rest come easy. The one I described above, in the fence post, are pretty rare and nearly always in the country.... although some in the cities are quite inventive and well camouflaged. Just to tease.... not sure wherby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I also understand why many don't. I'm interested... fascinated actually, with nearly all celestial events. Eclipses, Comets, Meteor Showers, love 'em all. My claim to fame ( :laughing ), and which I've posted about before - was actually seeing a meteorite hit the ground. Happened while I was outside taking a leak. How lucky can you get? - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
My eclipse glasses arrived last week. Before I retired I used to use my welding helmet. I got a lot of them because my daughter took some of them to work with her today, (she's a teacher), so her students could view it. I'll be taking mine with me today when I go golfing. I believe we'll only get about 41% coverage here in central Calif. but that's ok. Should hit 41% about 11:15am.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Know the game? I wrote about it many, many, many years ago. I haven't played in several years. I hid a few geocaches over the years then retired them.... except one. I had forgotten about it. If you don't know what geocaching is - it's little 'treasures', (can be big or very small), that you hide, (concealed well), and then mark the location with GPS. You post it on the Geocaching websiteby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
In 1982 I had a bright blue Chevy Malibu. It was beautiful... and in need of a wax job. So I took it to my shop.... we had a service area there for changing oil, etc I began waxing my car. I was bent over waxing the lower part of the right front fender when I realized something was odd..... the car was waxing itself! No, I wasn't high. I stopped for a moment to contemplate and the car wasby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
And I doubt I'll be surprised by the final game. Some good basketball today, however.... even if the results were not much in doubt. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

And it's only days away! Can't see anyone beating Scheffler at this time. The guy is red hot. Incredibly consistent. BUT... that's the thing about the Masters - "Ya never know". I can't say what the highest honor is that one can attain in sports.... but "The Green Jacket" has to be right at the top. Most trophies you share but not the Green Jacket. It was different, new.... engaging personalities even if you didn't care for any one or more of them. As individuals no.... I mean I liked them but no one of them was a top favorite of mine. Maybe Cosell in boxing but not football. Dick Enberg is my all time favorite. Al Michaels would be 2nd. Loved Madden. Hank Stram is up there.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com

But I think everyone on this board that has a dog should share in your fee? Actually... I shouldn't have to pay at all, only them, because I was smart enough to bring it up. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
As you know this is my first EVER indoor dog. I was completely ignorant on how to raise and train an indoor dog.... but, Guido has basically taught me that I don't train him, he trains me! :laughing Those eyes! YES, I know those eyes well. :laughing Guido actually watches TV. Now I've seen dogs that will glance up at a TV if something that interests them comes on but Guido will watch liby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
English Springer Spaniel.... as you may recall. He's a year old now. English Springer's are known as one of the more intelligent dog breeds.... but, I dunno. He's potty trained now BUT... it took a lot longer than it should have, or what I read is 'normal'. Dumb. He knows exactly how to work us to sneak things off the table he's not supposed to have.... like 'genius level' deceivous.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

I am 100% that today's appliances are junk. They are fancier... and fancier by a LOT... and that probably compensates for them being junk for most people. Not me. As I've said before on this board.... I built my current home in 1993. I believe I'm on my 4 or 5th refrigerator since I moved in. In my garage I have the refrigerator we had as a kid in the 50's. It's never even been servicedby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I am. I'm pretty gullible... tack on the word "Championship" to anything and I'm in. :laughing But I make light... I like NCAA Basketball. The championship does confuse me a little however. I'm rooting for North Carolina. Why? Good question. I haven't got the slightest idea why. I do that.... somehow, for reasons inexplicable to me, I latch on to a team and that's my team.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
That people leave their homes on big holidays. To leave home on a big holiday - like Christmas, Easter... that's not even a thought for my family. BUT... I understand why many do. So I guess businesses get customers... won't be any of my family however. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I'm going to have a very good Easter. My grandkids are now too old, (according to them), to hunt Easter eggs.... so for the last few Easters no chocolate eggs for me. BUT TODAY - - - - We have guests... and some of those guest are under 10... which means CANDY for Papa (me). I also have a special wine ready to be uncorked... ummmm, later today. Wine and Chocolate... great combo. :laughiby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Remember the actor Jesse White? You'd know him if you saw him. He delivered not just the funniest line in that movie, (to me of course), but possible in any movie. Well.... actually he tied with Jack Benny's "Well" when Ethel Merman chastises him. When Micky Rooney and Buddy Hackett are in the plane and failing miserably Jesse White, in resignation, says, "Why don't we just sby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

I still love all those movies and watch them periodically. In my household, (when I was a kid), I believe the annual broadcast of the Wizard of Oz was second only to Christmas for being a 'big event'. We looked forward to it like I look forward to a Ram's SB. Ok, my surprise.... but first my prediction. but overall Star Trek was ON their game. Truly incredible... especially considering it was TV and not a movie. But I have to confess... most special effects from yesteryear impress me. To this day I can't even imagine how they created the special effects in the original King Kong. Today it's all CGI... which is amazing, for sure, but it's the computer's doing the work. I haven't read much about it, but that's the first article I've read about it that is so 'positive' that it's going to happen in that time frame. Man I PRAY they're right!!!! Something that confused me is that they mentioned it would have a stellar magnitude of -2... near the magnitude of Polaris. But then they say it 'may' be visible in the daytime.
