Remember the actor Jesse White? You'd know him if you saw him. He delivered not just the funniest line in that movie, (to me of course), but possible in any movie. Well.... actually he tied with Jack Benny's "Well" when Ethel Merman chastises him.
When Micky Rooney and Buddy Hackett are in the plane and failing miserably Jesse White, in resignation, says, "Why don't we just shoot 'em' down and be done with it". I cannot laugh any harder than I did at that line.
And actually... Jesse had my second favorite all time line in the movie "Harvey"... but I'll save that for another time. - JamesJM
BTW... I believe Jesse White was the original Maytag Repairman?
