that was the very first words in High School spanish that I learned... .not once have I been able to wiggle it into a conversation. BTW.. translation: A fountain pen.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
yeah, Donald not being rated higher is odd to say the least... but I have no idea how their rating system works.... and frankly have no desire to learn.:laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
the speed was rated by syllables spoken... so it doesn't matter how long the word or the sentence is, it's how fast it's spoken by syllable... which is basically the same in 'length' for all languages.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
It never ceases to amaze me how starkly different an OL in any given game can be in efficiency between pass blocking and run blocking.... it just seems to be illogical to me. Yet it's not rare at all.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com

No chance that ball is caught... although I'm sure some might not see it that way. It brings up another question... I watched that a half dozen times and I'm not convinced the Burrow even knew Perine was in the area. And he certainly had no control over the balls direction while in Donald's grasp. IOW... blind hope.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
And just a guess... but I think most Ram fans, at least on this board, came to cheer the Rams during the 80's. 6 playoff appearances in the 80's? You need to check me on that. There was no lack of 'superstars' in the 80's playing for the Rams. But they never seemed to field a 'complete' team without any glaring weaknesses. Most years in the 80's they seemed so close to me to having it alby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
not that I think this one will... very much doubt it. But think of this one: "one yard short of winning the SB".... Rams vs Titans. That was 22 years ago and I STILL hear that one.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
In order the fastest spoken languages: 1. Japanese - (I didn't think of this but agree) 2. Spanish 3. French 4. Italian 5. English 6. German 7. Mandarin That's as many as the article I read mentioned... I'm sure there are others that could perhaps vie for the #1 spot.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I hope someone finds and posts the video... because IMO no 'human' dive could have ever reached that ball. it would have taken one of those Shaolin Soccer guys. :laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
If you don't understand a language it always seems fast.... but I do think Spanish speaking people speak a bit faster than English speakers. Same for Italians. With my 'untrained' ear some languages do not seem as fast to me as the latin based languages... German for example. I can clearly hear and distinguish words spoken in German, even though I don't understand any German at all. But lby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

from friends and needs to be put to bed is this: "If Perine had only dove for Burrow's flip they had the first down". It's not a myth without reason. Granted. From the TV angle it DID look like it was close. I couldn't find the opposite angle video but I'm sure one of you will... from the opposite side of the field than the live TV shot it is indisputable that the 'flip' whileby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I cannot... with some tiny little exceptions. I got 'conversation' fluent in French some years back, (not now, forgot nearly all of it). It got me thru France and Switzerland in my travels. I am NOT, nor ever was, "fluent" in French. Italian... this one will be tough to explain and even tougher for you to understand. My grandfather spoke only Italian. unless you mean what fans would say, even fans here on the board, then absolutely yes... brilliant or dumbest call in history. but that play fit that D call perfectly.... I don't think that was accidental, just getting lucky. They didn't run that play much this year at all... and maybe never during the playoffs? I can't remember but I don't recall them running it.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he was ready. And yes, it does seem fast to me... I guess the early bird gets the worm.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't keep track of them all.... but.... Rams... first team I ever liked. Right now that's the first I'm most proud of. :laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I can see where you would have had that reaction... from what you saw. It was different for me, watching on TV. Now had I known they had called a jet sweep PRE-snap I would have tossed a hissy fit... actually worse.. what's 4 steps up from a hissy fit? But as it turned out I had no time to 'hate' it because I knew he had it instantly. Gap was just too wide, even without a great blocby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
apparently. :laughing Up until this year I've never really understand why so many TE's are required on the active roster.... after this year? not sure we carry enough. :laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
well, I didn't really ask a question, did I? :laughing Sure, we knew it was going to Kupp, but a jet sweep on 4th and 1? Kupp receiving a pass? Hell yeah!by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
This could just be me.... but it 'seemed' almost like disappointment from the announcers when Cindric took the checkered flag.... and I think the reason why was the 'story' that crumbled on so many very notable drivers in the field who had and still haven't won the Daytona 500. They wanted to tell that story and I'm not saying they didn't appreciate Cindric but at same time there seemed a few moby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
the competitive struggle to get there and then win the SB? Like you say, "most competitive playoff run ever"... it very well could have been that. Most of the most legendary moments in NFL history are solitary events... "The Hail Mary"... remember the preceding games? "The Immaculate Reception"... can you instantly call to mind the games surrounding that one?by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
but then yes, to rehash it.... because there isn't a play in a Ram SB Victory that should not be rehashed. I have to admit, it stunned me. BUT... at the same time... I could instantly see he had the first... so sure - pre-snap I was a quivering bowl of jello but as soon as Kupp got the ball I knew we had a new set of downs. It wasn't even really a "hip hip hoorah" moment for me..by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Winning the SB kind of subdued the games the Rams played to get there.... didn't erase them, at all... but they were less on my mind. Then reading it began the 'what about this moment', and 'this one', 'then there is this one', not to be left out 'this one', which preceded 'this one', after 'this', which couldn't have happened without 'this one'. I think NASCAR popularity actually gained after that, however. At least for a time. Today.... I don't know. Certainly the tracks aren't having trouble selling out. I don't have any feel for the popularity across the USA.. more? Less? Seems the same to me... I think it did get more media play in the past... but whether that has had an effect on fans I'm not sure. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
so I'm not sure whether to thank you or kick your ass for making me to go thru that anxiety again. :laughing Well done, George.... I often think others, even on this board, can't really appreciate what my Rams mean to me....which ain't true, I've come to learn... and most certainly not true when it comes to you. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm no good at this kind of thing anyway... so no list from me. I'll just second yours. :laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
But I wasn't shocked in the least by the fact you love the Drags. :laughing As you describe NASCAR I do the same with the Drags... it's far down my list in favorite automotive sports but that doesn't mean I'm not a fan.
