Yeah... and the ultimate "Look at me - I'm special[/i]" for me was Brady wearing his white spats. Made me want to splatter mud on him and make him cry. Ramsey and his DB guys wearing uniform sox of the "wrong" color? I'll give 'em a pass. If it motivates, builds bonding, so much the better. Ramsey's leadership showed tonight.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Shall we all send him pacifiers? :thumbsupby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRam_Ruler The Rams are lacking explosive plays right now because they don't have a legitimate deep threat. That was Jefferson's role last year. Troy Hill is one of the most consistent slot corners in the nfl. And whether or not they are difference makers remains to be seen but they were higher on the depth chart than the guys that we had playing out there today. Question: Did Staford haveby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJYB And Jimmy G will take it all game long. So will his coach. That'll be the gameplan. Long, tedious drives, points on the board and time off the clock. That's whatg they're built for, and that's what can throttle us.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote21Dog QuoteOld Goat Ya, Cam does that a lot. Wish they'd coach it out of him. Having a gunslinger at QB is one thing, don't want it at RB. It was a great play by Baker, but given Akers' history coughing it up, it's a disturbing trend. Coaching. I'm not saying that to blame; but am saying that's the answer if there is one.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yawn-worthy predictability, drops and misses of catchable balls, baffling playcalling, diluted vanilla scheme, mediocre O line play, and expecting Wilson to make it all function by his mere presence all contributed to a barely-win in a game they could have dominated. Sure, Russ threw some whazzup widdat passes, but he played well enough to win by a wider margin. Nobody was open in time, and Iby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
What I'd like to see from our guys is hard-hitting aggressive play, snap to whistle, every down. No extra-cirricular activity, shall we say, just hard-hitting clean football.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe his blue sox were in the laundry. Or maybe he just doesn't LIKE blue sox. Maybe he had to wear them as a kid, and said, "When I grow up, I'm NEVER gonnas wear those icky blue sox again." Or something like that.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
There - I said it. Their D plays too consistently dirty for me not to believe that's how they're coached. How about the deliberate trip by Bosa, followed by the head-to-head in the game that just finished? Even the announcers commented on it. They get away with it because it's subtle enough not to draw a lot of flags, but it's there.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
One of my biggest frustrations - no. make it my biggest - with this D is time of possession. We can't score without the ball. Conservative D, yes - but like running the ball instead of passing it all the time, I like to see a bit more risk-taking play from a defense. Keep the opposing O honest. I didn't see today's game, not much of last week's, and all of the Bills game. That was enough.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
"With this being the last time the Rams wear their Bone jerseys, it’s unfortunate that they won’t pair them with Bone pants at all this season. " Unfortunate? The bone-n-bone lacks any color impact at all, and the bone, probably chosen because it doesn't produce TV screen glare (only reason I can think of) lacks the dynamic presence of all-white that I remewmber from the Roman Gabrieby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com

Good catch - I'm dating myself. And yes, Grosza was called The Toe. I remember watching him on our first TV, back in the early '50's. Also watched a lot of Danny Villanueva.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed re: our UM grad McCutcheon. I'm itchingly, eagerly, anxious to see him play during regular season and do well - but not until he's ready!by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Not to pick an off-topic quibble; I know you posted about Tutu and said to verify your position that you didn't want to see long balls thrown to Skow because he couldn't catch them. We certainly saw that last year - particularly in one memorably painful instance where the ball should have been caught. My thought since had been that I hope he works on his hands during the off-season. Apparenby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Anybody here (besides me) olde enough to remember Lou Grosza? Back in Grosza's day kickers were traditionally linemen like Grosza until soccer started to become popular in America. Then a few soccer-style kickers crossed over as novelties and misfits (Garo Yeprmian's famous run - he never played football as a kid, only knew how to kick) until it became clear that the soccer style kick was morby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
This: "But, unless the line can pass protect long enough to get anyone deeper than 10-12 yards, it won't matter who is running the deep routes. " Now is not the time to experiment with Tutu. Play the players who are proven to give uis the best chance to win - not only at WR, but every position.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Like Madden said: You can never have too many cornerbacks. Ramsey expresses confidence in this group to do well with next man up mentality, and seems to enjoy his defacto playing coach role with them.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Good article - better than most, I'd say. Worth a little study after a once-through read. I think I saw some things that weren't to the point of the article and therefore weren't mentioned, particularly on won the O line. Haverstein was originally broiught in to be a road grader at RT; he could use some help at RG and hopefully will get it. Thanks Alyo, you amaze me. I don't mind little CB's who can play, and who aren't scared to death by the thought of tackling and know how it's done. Welcome aboards, little man! Play big.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
When Deacon and Merlin played side-by-side, they had so many stunts and moves between them that oposing tackles or guards didn't know who to block. Remember that so-called ghost move from Von in the Bills game? He moved behind everybody else and attacked the gap at the center of the OL. That reminded me of the Deacon, or sometimes after a double-stunt at the line, Merlin doing the same thing.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Williams is still a kid - has room for his trunk to thicken. If he eats his Wheaties and does his pushups he might be able to put on another 15 - 20 pounds. Note the girth of his thighs in the photos. Looks like he's already put on some muscle, and has room to add more. We'll see what the training staff does with him. As of today I'm glad they re-signed Brown. We'll see what he does in hisby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
The article misses two salient points: One, (as was demonstrated on the second video) when the pocket collapses, Stafford has to get rid of the ball quick. Two, if the defense is playing (however configured) to rush the passer and cover deep routes, effective running plays cah succeed for more yards than checkdown passes close to the line of scrimmage. In other words, solid O line play in theby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
... were they vetting him out or negotiating a cost, was the signing of Ragas a put-in-place backup measure until Brown's deal was secured? Only Les and his shadow knows... He can be that thumper running back who will get three to maybe seven yards, more if he's lucky, a good share of the time when we need it. True that - that was Warner, pre-injury. Team-wise, that was then, this is now.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I read the article and won't copy quotes here. It mentions Goff's effectiveness with play-action, which we've since abandoned. Who was Goff's running back? It also mentions how many passes, how many interceptions, etc. Stafford has thrown. I hate to sound like a tin drum (almost) but some decently solid O line play and a thumper running back would enable Stafford to do his thing - when heby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com

... we have about a 3TD lead in the first half and the game is in the bag (tongue stretches cheek like a baloon about to burst) just like we did against the Falcons. Then, if he didn't jump from unprepared to game speed we could blame him for a loss. Much as I'm itching to see my Montana players (Hardy, McCutcheon) on the field, I have to say "not yet."
