He's a guy they can easily move back and forth from the 53 to the PS and no one will claim him. This week they need him for special teams because of all the roster volatility. In a week or two he can easily be cut for someone they want to look at, where they need depth, someone coming off IR, etc, and then he'll go on the PS.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
No one is going to trade for him right now because of the surgery and they admit to that. They have also said Lance will start "soon than later" per multiple recent articles like the one below:by db - RamsFootballFans.com
He will of course be fined, and hopefully suspended a game. One of the biggest uncalled for and premeditated cheap shots I've ever seen.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
I think everyone is tired of these trite bashing posts.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
Oh yeah, its obvious, he's too short, doesn't weigh enough, and won't be of any use. Hmmm, or maybe he's a rookie, in his first game, in one of the most complex offenses in the NFL, with other good players in the WR room, and he missed some time in the preseason. Now I'm thinking that "conclusions" about who or what he is at this point may be a tad bit premature.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
This is not new news. It's Florio trying to drum up ratings and controversy as always, most can see through that.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
No way they would keep Hughes and not Reed. As of now Reed makes the roster and Hughes they release and try to get to the PS. They also really like Warner, he is guaranteed to be on the PS if no one claims him.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
Outfoxing the majority of folks on this board is not too difficult. They were never going to draft a C high, and people in the know knew that. McVay and Snead have said it before, they draft playmakers in the higher rounds. They were not going to go into this year with a new QB and new C in a complicated offense. Drafting a C to have him sit a year or more would make no sense. Allen has riseby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Believe me, they are focused on him gaining weight, they already have him on a special diet. With the training advancements over the last several years, he will not lose that much explosiveness as the gain will be gradual. This year, he will just be a specialty package guy. But the true effectiveness of great TE's is that can both receive and block well and their presence does not telegraph thby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Their target is to get him to 240, will take this year and next but will happen.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, he's too short right?by db - RamsFootballFans.com
Sure, because it's always that simple, right?by db - RamsFootballFans.com
No one said or implied anything about an upgrade. It would be a salary cap move, which is the point. Evans proved similar production at RT(as a rookie) when he was given the chance 2 years ago. And saying that Havs is going to be at a Pro Bowl level this year is a massive reach. It would be great, and he was solid for the most part last year after a crappy year prior. But please, there is noby db - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the telling detail as to why they may trade Havs is that he was not restructured. He easily could have been, and perhaps they approached him and he said no or didn't like the deal. Either way he is a prime candidate to trade, or potentially even cut after June 1. Its probably the one position where they have good options, which I see as Evans and Brewer. I doubt seriously they are goiby db - RamsFootballFans.com
We are all just guessing at this point, including him. But one thing they are not going to do is move Edwards to RT, he has played zero snaps there and they don't view him as such. I have no idea why he keeps talking about that. It will be Havenstein, Evans, or Brewer at RT. Noteboom is not going to RT and neither is Edwards. And as mentioned, the statement about Kromer not knowing how to deby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Nearly the exact same number of games and stats that John Ross had the last 2 years, which is the point. But prior to that, there is no doubt which one had a history of success. Will it work out, who know. If either of them were sure things, they wouldn't be available on a 1 year deal.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly. Similar? On what planet? They might have similar speed or similar injuries, but they are not similar players. One has 56 career TD's and five 1000 yard seasons and two more in the 900's, and the other has 10 career TD's and got to 500 yards once. This team has a 2-3 year window to win with AD and Ramsey, that's what this is about. Quibbling over a couple million makes no sense. Itby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone (well, almost everyone) feels the same way...by db - RamsFootballFans.com
All reasonable possibilities, just hard to know right now, we are all just guessing, but I'll offer 2 things: - I think Burgess is a safety as opposed to a nickel CB. I certainly could be wrong, but he looks better to me moving forward and flying around and pursuing angles compared to being in coverage on smaller fast twitch slot receivers. I'm sure he'll do both, defense is about being deceby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly, he did play well. That's how you find out if you have real depth or not, when backups are forced into action.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
It's hard to say I think. JJ for 11M would seem very reasonable. In a year with a higher cap number I bet they would have. Although the other factor is their safety depth, one of the deepest spots on the team. We all saw what Fuller can do. Burgess definitely flashed before his injury. Don't sleep on Nick Scott, that guy really evolved and got quality minutes down the stretch. And lest weby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Had some down time and was able to catch up with my friend who is a long time Rams scout. He's mainly focused on college player evals of course (which he can't talk about and I don't bother asking), but we did talk about existing Rams sleepers and here is what he passed on. Will all these guys make the leap, who knows, but they are ones to watch: Eric Banks - when this UDFA made the 53 out oby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, calling Long a big flop is ridiculous. The coaches like him, and if not for the rapid emergence of Williams and the final year for Hill, he would have played a lot more. They are counting on him for more minutes next year with Hill gone. The Rams had the top defense and therefore there are backups at certain positions that may not have played much but have talent and are being groomed. Tby db - RamsFootballFans.com
This is a great article. Interesting to see the trends. The reality is that deception and timing of these different looks throughout a game and season are paramount. The days of the stagnant, predictable D set are likely over for a range of reasons - rules slanted towards the offense, no huddle offenses, communication from the coach headset to the QB, more hybrid type players on both sides, etby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Anyone that follows the Rams at any real depth knows they think highly of Howard. He was set to start. He was their leading special teams tackler the prior year. If healthy he could likely start next year given their ILB situation. Being completely dismissive of him is lazy and idiotic. Will he have great impact, who knows? But anyone they are signing now who will take up cap space, they obby db - RamsFootballFans.com
Rockram didn't say anything about lowered expectations, and it has nothing to do with how much the contract was for, or how many pics were given up, etc. Everyone is aware of what is at stake and every team is driving towards the same goal. This was all about the coachspeak, which was way overblown by Florio and King. It was unwatchable in my opinion, babbling on about nothing. McVay/Snead/Krby db - RamsFootballFans.com
They never said that. They haven't said hardly anything. They can't until the trade is official. If you "inferred" something, then that is a different issue and is your opinion. But you saying the Rams "lied" is quite misleading.by db - RamsFootballFans.com
