I know McVay is supposed to be an offensive genius....but if he had to put his focus on one certain-fragile-ego....it was Goff. It might be too much for him to also focus the game plan on springing Gurley free. McVay admitted this week that he needs to do a better job of designing plays give Gurley a better chance.. He has had success tailoring the plays to the wants-likes of the QB (first witby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
And the Cards think they are a playoff team. If Palmer keeps playing the way he did last Sunday.....AZ would be a perfect landing spot for Luck. He wouldn't have to live through the Colts rebuild. It would have to take a boatload of picks though.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

The combo of Rams big point differential in week one and Cousins looking dreadful against the Eagles had to sway them.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams won one game in LA last year....the first one, a tantilizing 9-6 victory over the Seahawks. Then they proceeded to lose every home game after that....rarely scoring more than 14 points. Then listen to Fisher's post game presser about how he pulled of some really cool trick-gimmick play in the game. Obviously after week one there is hope. Granted, it was against a Colts team that isby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I think she's fine. Yeah....she seems to try to hard to find the "catchy" comment at times. But....Al Michaels, Bob Costas, and several other guys have done the same thing. She may take a little getting used to....but I'm good with her. Rex needs some time. He neds some polishing.....and his chalk talk review of replays is weak.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
He seems to focused on finding the huge hole for a 30+ yard run. That is fine for the first half. But when you are up 20 points in the second half....the goal is to keep possession, eat clock, and break the will of the defense. Hit the hole hard and accept 4 yards. It ain't sexy....but it'll do. This Ram isn't good enough for Gurley to take time hesitating.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Prescott stepped into possibly the best situation a rookie QB could hope for: - Best Offensive line in the league - Stud #1 WR (Bryant) - Top 10 all time TE (Witten) who is still very productive - Top RB in the game (Elliott) To me, it's all about the O-line. They give time for all the Dallas weapons to create plays. Give Dallas credit, they hit on many picks on the draft thatby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
That is a HUGE stat. Goff was dead last in Yards per attempt last year at 5.3. A really good YPA is 7.0. So don't expect Goff to stay near 10.6. But there wasn't a ton of YAC on his receptions today....so that 10.6 is a tremendous number Fault the Colts for not making adjustments. But I guess you have to figure they just didn't think Goff would change his stripes after last year. Plus, tby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree he seems a step slow hitting the hole...but he has always been that way. When things were going good for Gurley, he had plenty of big 20+ yard runs...but also still had a bunch where it was -2 yards to +2 yards. However, he wasn't getting hit behind the line of scrimmage as much. Today and last year it seems there is/was a defender in his face a step before he gets to the line of scrimby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Good point on Hekker. He is an unkown to most because he has played on this Rams team. But he will possibly be in a position of making a huge difference in games that can put this team into the playoffs. Remember Bellichick fawned over Hekker....said he was probably the best ever to play the position. Say what you want about Belichick.....but he knows talent.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
You can just tell listening to McVay. He processes things at light speed. This team will be able to make adjustments quicker. Fisher's teams never really seemed to adjust. They either took a game from the beginning.....or were never able to get in the game at all (usually it was the latter).by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
They see a lot of opportunity to "clean things up". Penalties, Run game, etc. This is where this Coaching staff should pay big dividends. Fisher's staff just never really seemed to be able to make corrections. I expect a different result this year.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Far be it from me to complain about anything after a blowout win. But, if this team is going to get momentum....the O-line needs to be able to steamroll the run game to eat clock in the second half. They just couldn't do that except for maybe one series late where they started to get some traction.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

But Patriot haters do need to face some reality. The Jets and Bills are (once again) really bad teams. There is a glimmer of hope for the Dolphins...but you have to figure the Patriots get spotted their usual 5 or 6 division wins. So then they just need to play 0.500 against the rest of their schedule to finish around 11-5 or 10-6. So, they will definitely be in the playoffs. You just neby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know about Davis being the starter after the bye week. However, McVay will use the RB that gives him production. As offensive coordinator at Washington, McVay inherited Alfred Morris (who had estabilished himself from a previous unknown to being the Redksins featured RB). I'm sure everyone thought that McVay would continue on with Morris. However, he ended up spreading snaps around toby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
He is widely regarded as the best defensive player in the game today. He is only 26 and stands a solid chance of playing at that level for another five years. You have to assume that some other team is stupid enough to give him the money he wants to make him happy and extend his contract. Provided, that gets done (contract of 4+ years) he is worth two first round picks and another pick (whby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Colts starting center....and 2nd string center both out with foot injuries. Brockers should be able to have a field day. A lot of talk about Donald.....but Brockers needs to become more of a force.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams put out clips of McVay press conferences which last about 8 - 10 minutes....the first four or five minues is re-answering the same Donald questions that have been asked 20 time before. What a waste of time.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I was clicking back and forth between Yankees vs Red Sox....but while watching the A&M/UCLA game I recall the announcers saying Sumlin wanted to get his 2nd string QB some reps. The announcers backed that decision by saying that UCLA's offense was so dreadful....and A&M's defense was so dominant.....that there was little risk in Sumlin's decision. Oops. I remember saying to myself...by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
When you insist on the type of money he wants.....AND want an opt out clause....that tells me he would much rather be somewhere else. One way to force a trade is to just throw unreasonable demands out for public knowledge.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
They finally draft a player who ends up being one of the top players in the league.....and he essentially has decided he no longer want to be a part of the Rams. So much talk about how he was over-scheming under Fisher and Williams....and now as a FS he can freelance a bit more and use more instinct. Particularly one which the Rams traded up to go grab. So yeah.....he will be a five year starter, and he damn well better at least do that as the #1 pick! Unfortunately in the NFL....teams can have QB's start for five years...and have a 7-9 or 9-7 records and not be in a position to draft another avaialable stud QB. I hope this is not the Rams fate. He clearly has a high football IQ and can process things at light speed. But he doesn't throw that in your face, or get pissed off that others can't keep up with him. Instead, he keeps things fun and makes sure all his players are constantly learning. That's the perfect working environment to attract high-performing players.
